I generally name my lists Indomitus for Gulliman led lists, and Victrix for Calgar led lists. Indomitus Demi-Company Robute Gulliman Phobos Libby Captain - Heavy Bolt Pistol, MC Power Weapon, Relic Shield Lieutenant Neo-Volkite Pistol, MC Power Weapon, Storm Shield Librarian 6 Bladeguard Heavy Intercessor x5 Heavy Intercessor x5 Intercessors x5 Intercessors x5 Infiltrators x10, Comms, Helix Outrider Squad x6 + ATV Storm Speeder Hailstrike Devastators x10, 4 Lascannon 1 Drop Pod That works out to 20 Battleline (But 30 Tactical Shoulderpads), 6 Elite, 10 Fast Attack, 10 Heavy Support. Guilliman, plus a Demicompany and a couple Chapter HQ Librarians. I'm thinking of sticking one or both Intercessors into the Drop Pod for sticky capping backfields. Surround Gulliman with the Phobos Libby led Infiltrators for maximum annoyance factot protecting Gulliman, the Captain and Lieutenant join the Bladeguard to maraud, the Librarian joins the Devastators to give them a 4++, Outriders and Speeder also maraud/distract with the speeder adding some AP here and there. Victrix Demi-Company: Calgar Apothecary Biologis - Fire Discipline Captain - Heavy Bolt Pistol, MC Power Weapon, Relic Shield Lieutenant Neo-Volkite Pistol, MC Power Weapon, Storm Shield Librarian Captain with Jump Pack - Thunderhammer Relic Shield 6 Bladeguard Heavy Intercessor x10 Heavy Intercessor x10 Intercessors x5 Intercessors x5 Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs - 3 Plasma Pistols, 1 Power Fist Aggressors x6 Desolation Squad Again we have the 30/10/10(in this case 11) Demi Company - Calgar and the Biologis make the Aggressor bomb (and nastier because of Calgar's bespoke) Marauding Bladeguard, Libby 4++ Desolation Squad instead of Devastators, new Assault Squad with a Smash Captain instead of the bikes...

It has recently occurred to me that a lot of people have cool hobby blogs to keep track of their regiment, it's about time I did the same! Odd topics for vows and challenges is fine but I need a proper home for general models I'm working on. Given I started repainting my Guard a few years ago (almost finished...) it is fitting that I start with not only a repaint but one of the oldest of models. Check out this Russ, found lingering in my parent's storage and in need of some serious love and attention. Fortunately the commissariat is well known for having an abundance of love to share This model must be over 20 years old, so it is surely deserving of some special treatment! It's also the a perfect example of how everyone starts out rubbish Yes that is Goblin Green and Blood Red, I only had so many paints back then (and Chainmail instead of Boltgun Metal!) In between working on my Regiments vow I've been sorting the model out ready for stripping. Broken bits like the HK have been removed (wish my glue is that strong now...), barrels and exhaust drilled out along with cleaning join lines. Such a relic of the regiment demands the best so I'm going to give this model my all and try and push myself to greater heights of painting. I'll see if I can give it a fitting backstory and name too but any and all suggestions are most welcome

Someone suggested elsewhere the idea of a Holy Crusade army - with a small core of SoB leading a regiment of Imperial Guard. This idea really appealed to me but I'm looking for some advice with regard to implementing it: Firstly, which SoB units to use as the leaders of the crusade. I was thinking St. Celestine and maybe some Priests, but are there any other units I should consider? Second, any suggestions regarding the IG part of the army? I'd like to use primarily infantry but I'm wondering how best to kit them out to represent their being led by SoB. Should I use Meltas and Flamers? Also, should the sergeants have melee weapons or such? Any specific IG units you think would work for this theme? Finally, any other advice or suggestions for this theme? (I might post this on the IG section as well.)

Howdy! After years of stalling, doing research, lurking, and general procrastination I have finally put brush to model and begun my first army. I have painted a bit on and off, and after a couple of abortive attempts I have finally settled on a scheme that looks good and is easy to replicate. Sure, they look like Blood Angels or Word Bearers, but I am happy with them thus far. This army will be my DIY Chapter, the Red Fangs. They are both in their final stages, they just need decals and weathering on their shoulder pads and finally basing. First, pictures, then a question/favor. The test guy, and first member of my first tactical squad, the picture represents the red well: The second guy, finished tonight: And the two together: The Images are shoddy at best, but not bad for smartphone pics. Fluff to come, as that is my thing. Now for the question, what kind of bases should I go for? Starship deck? Urban? Thanks for any C&C in advance! *EDIT* Just realized the bolters need to be drilled! DOH!

Hi all! This is my first post on the forum so sorry if I'm not doing everything right A friend recently got me into 40k and I played a few matches with my other friends armies and, being a bit of a pyromaniac, found I played best with the blood angels, I love them! since then, I've been trying to start an army, although with very limited budget because....well... I'm a kid. I'm thinking of buying the starter set but might consider saving for larger, better value sets. Does anybody have any recommendations on sets (on a small budget) if so, can you give me the best equipment for the point value? provided I prefer to attack close range with long range support fire. Are there any rules regarding using space marine HQs. Also, any recommendations for a good support HQ? (not too concerned on budget for this). Sorry for asking so much, I just want to start right as I've very little experience in army building.

Greetings everyone, as of next week I will officially be putting my Imperial Fists on hold to start a new army for a 2000 point tournament this December. I currently have a Chaos Marine and Imperial Guard project started with the majority of each already assembled and primed so my first dilemma is to pick which army to go with. The Chaos army would be made up with a large number of chaos marines with support from some daemon engines, helbrutes and maybe a knight. The Guard would be a highly mechanised list with a bunch of hellhounds, leman russes and 6 infantry squads. I'm not ultra competitive so these lists would be mainly fun, fluffy lists. I've already done up a test model for each army. Sorry the pic of the marine is kinda dark, I'm house sitting at the moment so don't have my light box with me. The marine is from the Crimson Slaughter and the guardsman is based on the 110th (still not %100 on this scheme at the moment) So any help deciding which army to go with would be awesome. Thanks in advance. Edit: Changed picture of csm.

Hello Bolter and Chainsword! Always wanted to start a 40k army but never got around to it. Then Covid 19 happened and I started up a raven guard army out of sheer boredom. I chose them because Space Marines seemed like a good place to start. Painted up some easy build reivers and intercessors. Then 9th happened and all of a sudden it looked like my favorite xenos would be actually be playable. That plus the many small nerfs to RG made me switch over to them. I chose the Mephrit purely based on the halloween paint scheme. Then I found a store that still had a Necron Outrider box set and here we are. Behold! My first Necron model. I'm particularly proud of the base. The crystals are just cut up spruce pieces and the skull is from the ghost ark. Ten was too many anyway. Also second, a not quite finished wraith. My style is geared to be quick and dirty. Leadbelcher spray obviously. With the orange spots corax whited then gryph-hound oranged. Khorne red and Averland sunset to touch up the orange. Creed camo for the green and nuln oil gloss over the lead belcher. Balthazar gold for the fancy bits. Only part i'm not happy about is the cryptek's staff. Doesn't pop enough. Models for the Royal Awakening. Most of the Outrider Battalion. Please excuse my terrible photography. It was done on a camera phone. I'll upgrade it when I figure this all out. ... I really hope any of these guys are good in 9th...
