EPK: Heaps of dry-brushing(DB), in multiple thin layers in many directions, otherwise the plastic remains too smooth for cloth.

 

Recipe FYI;

Any undercoat,

Dheneb stone base,

Wash with a dark brown ink,(upside down to let it run into gaps)

DB-Bleached bone,

Chestnut wash, (avoiding lowest areas)

DB-Bleached bone again, (other way)

Flesh wash, (avoiding lower areas)

DB-Bleached bone,

DB-50/50 Bleached bone/white highlights

Diluted 50/50 Devlan mud wash to finish. (the very old washes are gloss and this mattes the whole thing up nicely)

 

It's pretty quick and dirty, I use a 4mm flat brush and knock either one model or a squad out in an evening(drying takes the most time). I do take more care with my characters robes of course but a very similar process.

I had a busy couple of days painting and remodeling Ramiel with my new FW mkIII armour, I think they are much more 'Command Squad' looking now.

Glad you like him FP; once FW start producing HH era shoulder pads I will redo my Apoc- Masters of the Chapter unit with that bling. I already have a 5 man MkIII set to use their arms and pads (as seen above) but their bits might go on a robed Command Sqd for GM Azrael if the HH ones are cooler (I'm picking they will be).

 

I've got the Flu today ;) so I'll sit at home and do touch-ups/repaints on my RW Interrogator, aight.

EDIT: Too shaky, reading and sleeping instead.

On a project note; after one hell of a 'leaking' weekend, I am going to put my RW Interrogator on hold until he can get one of those cool new bikes!!!!

 

In the meantime, FW have delivered a great little lump of resin (actually about a month ago) and it has now moved up the list.

 

 

Azzy's LR is about to get 'pimped' for AA duty. And given back to the techmarines to keep them happy ;)

Not sure mate, if I did I'd feel the need to do all my tanks. That'd lead me to doing all my 3rd Company infantry and DW too etc etc.

A lot of work to do on other projects before that stage happens :D

I rest my case. The GW modeler/painter who built it wrong for White Dwarf so long ago should be cast into the deepest hell! :D
