Looks like a miniature contemptor. Which is obviously a good thing! Are you going to do the legs in separate pieces for added poseability?

indeed, it might not seem so but the model is only held toghter by poster tag, the foot shin rhigh and pelvus are all seperate bits, so it can be positioned in a ton of diffrent poses

Looking "like" so far :D.

hehe, thanks, maybe this will dubble my like rateing

here is some more crazyness, this is what it looks like when its not stuck toghter with postertaq

there, building the base, testing the moveability of each joint and size.

Once im happy with the base i start on the details, using my scribbles as a refrence.

still not sure on the final look of the torso front.

as soon as i get the details finished and cast ill assemble the legs and paint them up to see what it will look like.

anyways work work.

Man, and I was so proud of my own kitbashed Oblitz -- now seeing your sculpt take shape, mine look like a cheap hack job ;)

These are really extremely promising, mate! Especially that last teaser shot of the lower leg with the decorative trim in place! Fantastic work!

Hell Yes!!

Will you be making casts of these?

:)

press mould casts with insta mould, dont have a setup for resin casts unless i find someone that cast them for me.

The thigh looks a little disportionate to the calf.

i know, but hoping that when i add the hip plateing, and with the front armor plate hanging low it will make the whole look good.

yoir oblits are great, and fter a while i even considered just buying centuriouns and copying yours instead of building my own.

That is some amazing trim work, how'd you even do that?

a little bit at a time, using small tools, still not that good at sculpting but i am learning.

He looks like he'll be able to go toe to toe with a centurion but he also looks like 5x cooler than the centurion! What head are you planning on?

thinking of using a closed helm like chaos warrior or horsemen, maybe even a slightly modifyed cultist stunber head.

or the dark eldar wraks or what they are called

That's it...got to ask...

How the :censored:: do you get the GS chaos trim looking so good?

I was just about to ask that. That looks so damn good. I was a bit unsure about the gigantic greaves at first, but that trim made it look so natural. In a 40k way

Wrak helms would look badass on these guys, they bring an uncanny feeling of imprisonment to models

Very impressive stuff Thamier! The green stuff is really a great and I completely understand forte's frustration...

I think the best use of Centurions is to convert them into Obliterators... That's their destiny! And you sir are doing a fine job! Keep at it.

oh wow. you are really good at sculpting, iam very impressed; the clean crispness of the basic shapes and forms, and then the amazingly detailed and neat trim... i gotta know how you did that, too

as for calves proportion, i admit i must agree, the thighs are way too thin in comparison, but as you say, i think heavy tassets would help, the shins themselves though i think would really look better if they were less flared, at least on the sides (kinda like the contemptor dreadnaught)

oh wow how liveky the thread got, thanks for all the responces.

Now lets see..

All i can say is i just take it slow makeing it bit by bit, got a new scalpel and made some neeedle sculpting tools, redoing stuff im not happy with. and think ill be going with wrak helmets, they do fit well.

I think the warriors of chaos helmets would be too plain for a guy this badass, the wracks heads/helmets would be cool to see though.

i am gonna test ofc, am what ever i end up using im gonna add some details like wires and such.

Some truly beautiful work there, my fallen brother!  I'm loving the balefire effects, especially.

thank you, once the oblits are ready for assembly ill be doing more painting and things will glow green.

i got stuck on one of my consept doodles above, going to try it like this, but if it still looks wrong when its nearly done ill just redo the shins, they do look better from behind, gonna see if i can add some more pictures, didnt get anything done today, when i arriwed to do the dayly sculpt i had forgotton all the important parts.

It's certainly sizing up, that's for sure, but at this stage I'm a little concerned he won't bulk up enough. Are you going to do something about his waspish waist? or is that a design feature?

The detailing is amazing!

i am adding details as i go along, the way i been building it, i been making the base shape first, then adding ontop of that

the pelvis im still a little unsure about, it was too narrow, so i been widenong it a bit, and been looking at the hellbrute details for inspiration.

also been thinking that ill add some armor plates to the side of the pelvis to hang down over the thighs covering hips, both to look cool and to give some armour and bulk.

and beteen the torso and pelvis i left a bit of room, so i can added cables and hoses hanging dowen from under the plateing.

havent had time to do more sculpting, but took some more pictures, once again its only held toghter by postertaq.

on the torso under the armor i plan on adding some wires draping down just to be viseble and it will bulk it up a bit, and in the front ill add a small extra plate, like on the drawing above, maybe a bit smaller.

and really havong a hard time figuring out what to do on the front torso next to the head, testing adding some vents but not sure about it or maybe its the shape.

also think ill add some more on the shoulders to make it a bit wider there.

anyway some pictures.

gotta have footprint

would like to hear ideas or comments, should be starting on the hip plates to bulk ip the thighs a bit, but if that dosent help ill be redoing the lower legs making them less wide

Holy crap that chaos star boot-print is awesome. Really like the armor trim as well man. My only issue is with the size of the greaves, they look kind of cartoonish in proportion. Slim them down and I think you'll be golden. Either that or size up the waist and thighs.

thanks, i been looking it over comparing the greaves with the centurions, and i think ill slim them down tonight, will try to remove and aave the trim if thar fails ill just redo it.

dont think i can add more to the thighs if i still want them to be bendable, as it they can bend thir knees down to 90 degrees, want to keep the mobility

Yeah I would go the route of slimming the greaves down, less work for you and I would reduce the size of the boots while you're at it. Honestly the "I skipped legs day" look doesn't bother half as much as the clunky cartoonish proportions. Basically If your guy looks like Brock Samson in proportion, you're doing alright.
