I'm thinking about Dark Angels as black shields. Not for any rules purposes but for, I hope, flexibility to add new cool units later.
I hope very much that there are several Named character released including Cypher. 
I think he could be very much a Hannibal Lecter type character. He's in a position of power and knowledge in a very unique position. My Black shields will be his small force running mission for him on the behest of the Lion. (Or is that a lie?)

Further to that I look forward to Luther. I like complicated characters. I hope he lives up to my expectations on the battle field as well.

And the Lion. Known for making lemonade when the universe gives him lemons. 

So I can see the force going in 3 directions over time or 4 if they become a shattered legion for a bit.

But I have lots to read still. 

 

The thing is that Plastics are cheap and available so all of my lists will be based around those until I can add all the cool toys later but it's my foot in the door. Lucky for me there's no FOC requirements for the ETL...

Well, we know there will be a Deathwing of sorts a Ravenwing. Rumour is there will be other wings too.

 

So you should be sorted on that front I reckon there will be Lion, & Corswain. The issue for Cypher and Luther is they did not participate against the other legions in the Horus Heresy, so they might get set back to the scouring. Even though they were fighting daemons on Caliban 

 

As for Rayray.... That isn't your gut talking, that is the lunatic cankerous sore that warp exposure has opened up in you, where your soul should be. YOu are becoming a prime candidate for the Gal Vorbak!!

With such a destructive turn from me, and a craptacular set of Deep Strikes (everything Mishap'ed...everything), Ray asked to end the game. I of course agreed to end the game (with alot, ALOT of good natured smack talk tossed in).

We rolled off to see who'd charge, with Pookie getting the charge!

This combat lasted 7-8 rounds, with Pookie's 5+ Invul and 4+ FnP being a perfect counter for the armor and 4+ Invul of the Leviathan. Pookie's smash and the Leviathan's Severing Cut would both proving dangerous to their opponent.

Yes, my Contemptors had less than stellar luck this game. 1 got Melta'd out in the open, the other as he rushed in for vengeance. It would take the Dark Furies, who originally fled from the shooting of the Melta Support Squad, to finish the job.

 

I dont think the +1 attack the drill would have provided wouldnt have changed much. Despite how things looked during the game, Pookie himself was making FnP saves in style. It was getting kinda ridiculous to be honest, but I couldnt complain as my 4++ was pretty strong. the sheer number of Wounds and Saves Pookie has made him a worthwhile opponent.

 

Didnt Dorn lock all of his Librarius away? I know Sigismund follows the words of witches, but is the rest of the Legion complicit as well?

It seems like the WB  characters  cant catch a break vs that ravenguard praetor at all 


yeah he locked em all up on the phalanx at some point garro tries to steal one of em and the guys is all  " no  = n ="  

Dorn sorta figured he would need his librarians for the siege despite trying to follow the edict and when garro came looking to poach for malcadors boy toys Dorn made it pretty clear that he was gonna be the one to choose when that gun was fired , not malcador since well they were his sons and all

I just got a really really good deal on a pewter terminator one  so I painted him up.  Might get a regular Artificer armor version for when Im not running terminators
