Those heavy bolters worked out fine then! :smile.:

Aside from putting the servo skill on the base had you considered attaching the servoskull directly to the obliterator? You could pin it. Drill a hole in the back of the skull and get a pin which you could shape into a mechatendril and have the other end pinned into the obliterator of his back or part of his should guard. I think it would be cool. Or model it like it is being absorbed into the obliterators armor.

It is an Obliterator. You could have the Servo Skull fused to it like it got caught by the Obliterator virus.

That the second ETL vow made & I think this maybe all that can get done between now up until the deadline. But see how it goes. My second vow pretty much

  • Rhino with Havoc Launcher, Combi Bolter - 83pts
  • 5 Khorne Berzerker with Chain-axe 95
  • Chaos Lord in Terminator armour, Pair Lighting claws - 117

of total value 965 points on or before August 1st, 2018. Success will bring me eternal glory and failure will doom me to wear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end.

Here the Helbrute. He going to get painted tomorrow. This is using the FW IW Dreadnought I got a while back, I think last year. Thank to Syn, he had a spare FW Autocannon arm. Went with this set up as it seem cool & in fact the points the Helbrute come to fit in great for my list for my next Warhammer World event.

So he will have a Dark Angel, Black Legion & Imperial Fist trophy, since when I got the models they where his originally trophy.

Really gutted FW stop selling the IW & other Dreadnought models like this :(

gallery_13342_13449_106741.jpg

Then just started painting the bastion today. In the end I've chosen to paint the walls in Blood for the Blood god. So I will need to varnish the model before apply this. Beside take away the gloss look/blood look. It some time the colour spray can see paint chip off it, so I want to protect any paint current on there or any that get applied later on. The Blood for the Blood god on the bastion right now was to roughly see what it was like, as the other colour scheme was to follow the box set with the dark/light grey but it would mean thing like the Banner would get loss.

med_gallery_13342_13449_34572.jpg

med_gallery_13342_13449_123162.jpg

Then the image below roughly what I will be using for idea toward my World Eater Khonre Berzerker. The event I'm going to in September allow us to take a few unit out side of our faction, but we will not know what they will do until the mission happen. I've chosen to go for World Eater after seen the description they've given for the event & allow me sort of start a small force, allow me to use them along side my Daemon of Khorne.

So here from the pack

At this campaign players will be thrust into the Dark Zones. The Dark Zones are deep in Invader territory, the fringe areas of the system captured by xenos and renegades in the early stages of the campaign. You might battle through Tyranid infested cities, take on your enemies in eldritch ruins, fight through the influences of strange temples and more. This means each table you play on will have its own theme and narrative, creating an exciting layer to your games!
The Dark Zones play an important part in the theme of the weekend, therefore we encourage all players to embrace this. Feel free to bring along some suitable models outside of your usual faction to represent the Dark Zones’ inhabitants. These will have uses throughout the weekend—but we aren’t revealing all just yet!

We recommend bringing along a unit of no more than 200 points (or multiple such units—just don’t go over 200 points for each). The units don’t have to be from a different Alliance to your own (Orks have no problem attacking even their own kind, let alone rival Xenos!), we just ask that they are narratively separate from your regular army and would have no qualms attacking you or your opponent! If you don’t have such models, don’t worry, it won’t stop you taking part in the campaign.

Converted Khorne Bloodbound miniatures to represent Khorne Berzerkers from Goralchis, three years into their war with the Orks. Without reinforcement or resupply, they’ve long since used all ammunition, their armour is in disrepair and their weapons crude and rusted. They now stalk the battlefield like warriors of old

med_gallery_13342_13449_80434.jpg

The image below, from Bloodquest. I'm going to convert up my Exalted Champion like this. Just I've always like this Chaos Marine from the Bloodquest comic. As said in the past army log, the Bloodquest comic is a great source for idea & just the whole look & image of the Chaos Marines for each Chaos god.

med_gallery_13342_13449_80064.jpg

I will still be aim for this force to be base upon the Warhammer World display. So trophy will be Ultramarine & Ork (with campaign) heavy.

gallery_13342_13449_69722.jpg

I'm buy the Bloodreavers toward these conversion & maybe try get MkIV legs? I'm not quite sure how many units I will make as it also going be down to space & time for carry them to Nottingham. As well as buying the Rhino, which will transport my Lascannon Havocs tomorrow.

Thanks Hushrong.

I am looking forward to this. Part of it just been little frustrated waiting on new models & been spend a bit time thinking how I'd model. The Warhammer World event help with the finial part of the idea. So just waiting on my FW order to arrive now. Then it the case of seen how many I can build & what I can carry with me to Nottingham in two & a half month time.

Update

Helbrute nearly finish. Just waiting on that Forge World order to arrive for a new IW transfer sheet so I can use one of the icon on the left knee pad. Taken about three hour in all to paint the model today.

gallery_13342_13449_38889.jpg

gallery_13342_13449_92149.jpg

Then bought this lot, along with some paints. So the Rhino for my Havocs unit with Lascannon. I'm going to try & see if I can add a Primaris Blood Angels Lt to the front of this. Just base on a game I had two week ago against a friend use to go a gaming club year ago & now they've started going to the one I attend to now.
Then the Age of Sigmar models are for my Berzerker. I didn't know you got 20 models in this set, kept thinking it was 10. So it even better. So idea wise, this box set great.

On another note - My Forge World order arrive a few moment ago. So the Helbrute will get the finial transfer added & varnish later today. As well as the rest of the Battle Brothers to join the above Khonre Berserker.

Cool kitbash for the berserker, the AoS stuff seems to scale well with the marine components. I particularly like the banner, is it stock or converted?

The banner/icon from the Age of Sigmar Wrathmonger box set.  Ork skull added with the event I'm going to in mind.

Only thing is I'm going to have to wait a few week until the base get done.  I will be using the new 40k ruin, cutting them up & also adding some ork parts again fit in witht he narrative of the campaign weekend I'm going to.

Sounds good, that. Your dedication to mixing the narratives of events you attend with the models you create has always impressed me, I think it's a great way to add a bit more meaning to everything, such that you're never building *just* another battle brother or dread, etc.

Weta workshop sum it up when talking about start of a course they've started in New Zealand

"Constant Learning

Whether it’s real-world experience or a programme of focused study, working concept designers never stop learning. The artists of Weta Workshop are constantly refining not only their technical knowledge, but their understanding of the art and role of storytelling. Says Paul: “We spend time trying to understand the role of story better, so that when we design we’re not just designing something that looks good. It’s in service to the story.” Understanding the fundamentals of things like character archetypes – the difference between an ‘antihero’ versus a ‘hero,’ for example – can be the key to elevating a piece of work to a level that not only fulfills the brief but resonates with the client. When students begin their Master of Design, they’ll be encouraged to explore the role of storytelling in their work."

Also that a second Battle Brother built for the squad, though I'd try one of the Khorne shield from the AoS range as well.  So that will get posted tomorrow along side the finish Helbrute.

I'm just waiting on the new terrain get release to make the base for this unit.

med_gallery_13342_13449_78152.jpg

As said before. I want the theme of this warband to be what left of a warband that took part in a Blood Crusade base on the Warhammer World display of Angelus Prime. I'm going change the sort theme after this, now going be base that what ever left of this warband went on to battle Goralchis with a few other understrength warbands. Then pretty much, going to allow my games from the Warhammer World campaign event add onto this & why, in the near future they join my Iron Warriors.

Dharn!

Those look great! I just saw an update in the ETL thread and though your new berzerkers are awesome looking and here you have more and some with paint on them! The wear and tear on the armor is awesome and they look so feral and ferocious! Paint job is ace as well!

Small update

Little bit more paint on the test scheme & here how the model looking. Few parts left to paint & after that, it just wait for the new 40k ruin terrain to get release. One thing though - I'm not sure if I should cut off the knife & replace it with one of the Age of Sigmar Khorne shield from the juggernaut unit? The shield arrive today, there 6 of them.

Also went back to my Dreadnought from 2012. It was just add transfer to the knee pads. Some time it nice going back to models that where finish a few year back & just add few parts. So like rebase both my Iron Warriors & Space Wolves to 32mm. I might go back & add transfer to tanks paint during 2011-2015 before the IW transfer sheet was release.

I like the dagger the bez already has. Nothing wrong with a shield except I wonder if it will cover up that neat damage to the shoulder pauldron. Plus, its a nice change of pace to see a berserker wielding a dagger/gladius instead of a larger melee weapon.

It will be also nice to see your older works get a touch up and refresh!

Really like how your first bezerker turned out. Curious to know how doing tue 3 washes one after another (agrax, sepai, then agrax again) changes the look of tue model after each wash. Would you be able to do an after shot of each stage? As so i can see how it adds to the depth of the model :-)

No models update from myself. My local store wasn't open due to staff been ill & with other stuff needed done (work happen that home) meant only really got the shade painted on the Khorne Berserker.

Back Throne of Skull April, round 5 would see my 1000th game with the Iron Warriors. It been a great weekend & fought some of the best games. My 1000th game would be against Ryan & the Alpha Legion. One epic moment was when the Daemon Prince & Lord Narach fought it out in combat. Lord Narach just taken the Daemon Prince down to 1 wound. While return attack, I mange to only just fail a single save which cost Narach in the end :( The Daemon Prince went on to take out my Knight, Siege Dreadnought, Helbrute just name few units.

Since then, Ryan sent a Alpha Legion part to rep our game. The trophy was added to my Hellwright.

Then the big 1000 game for the Iron Warriors against Alpha Legion & a great way to mark this, as well as end a great weekend of hobby.

med_gallery_13342_13449_365523.jpg

Lord Narach had just been though a few of the Warlord, then came up against the Daemon Prince drop it to a single wound. Return attack & these are my Inv saves.

med_gallery_13342_13449_472586.jpg

I like going to Throne of Skulls as said because how hard fought the games where & how great the oppent where. Just notice in all my games Lord Narach battle against there Warlord as well in all 5 rounds!!!

Ryan just sent these yesterday by facebook. The Iron Warrior trophy painted by myself on the left shoulder.
