Greetings brethren, I am glad to show you my first shots about my new Black Word Bearers Army. I know Sons of Lorgar are red but... I prefer black. You will see here several trials I made about astrological symbols of Word Bearers, a plant or jungle base. I am not very comfortable with green stuff (and english) but I am learning to use it. Here we are, allows me to introduce my Dark Apostle (I need to name him) : http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/06/1422968324-apotre-noir.jpg My Hellbrute (a peacefull dude) : http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/06/1422968326-hellbrute.jpg And a brother. For my CSM I wanted an archaic and massive power armor to show to everyone they were fallen warrior of Mankind. http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/06/1422968323-fantassin.jpg I hope you like it, if you have any advice I will take it ! C'est tout pour aujourd'hui !

Night Lords 42nd Heavy Armor Company
Hungry Nostraman Lizard posted a topic in + WORKS IN PROGRESS +
“Artillerymen believe the world consist of two types of people; other Artillerymen and targets.” "Ultima ratio regum. (The final argument of kings)" Hello friends. Welcome to the armor depot of the 42nd Armored of the 8th Legiones Astartes. The 42nd were around since the formation of the proto-Legion, though under different name and number. Several armored companies have been folded into the 42nd throughout the course of the Crusade and Horus's rebellion. Presently, the 42nd is spread throughout several ships, attached to Battlegroup Perdition predominantly, with some elements scattered within Battlegroup Labyrinth, all within the over-arching 251st Expeditionary Fleet, "the Fleet of Judgement". The 42nd are organized into several sections, and actions will be enacted with elements from various sections working on cohesion, also in-time with other elements of Battle-companies attached to the 251st Fleet. The over-arching commander is Ger'zass the Anvil-Lord. A Terran-born astartes, an affinity for tank-doctrine saw him elevated to platoon leader. Throughout the Crusade, he went on to secure himself a position in a Lupercal super-heavy tank, before assuming overall command of the 42nd by the time that his gene-sire Lord Curze was reunited with the Legion. Ger'zass the Anvil-Lord earned his moniker amongst the 42nd through a series of tactics that crushed the seditious conglomerate in the Craulost system. A banding of local governors had pooled their allegiances and declared themselves Imperial-free and renounced all ties to the Imperium. During a parade meant to signify the union of the locals, hence-by referred to in this chronicle as Crauls, the governors had sponsored a military showing of the might of their once divided colonies. That such a powerful army would withstand the tyranny of the Emperor. It was at such a moment, with all eyes gazing at the Craul governors and their generals that Ger'zass struck. Using elements of light armor and fast striking scout elements, the Talonmaster saw opportunity to bait the confidence of the generals into cockiness, as vast amounts of their forces chased the out-numbered light-armor into a section of the city that was previously known as [REDACTED], as the armies of the Crauls pulled into the square, entire city blocks erupted with the roar of dozens of cannon and anti-material fire. Momentum lost, the Crauls attempted to reverse and exit as to regroup and retaliate. Records show that such a reaction had been anticipated, and to prevent the Craul generals from escaping, the previous light-armor struck forth from side flanks, bolstered now. Massive teleportations flared as the entirety of the companies terminator reserve teleported in, in effect sealing the fate of the Crauls. The rebels had no choice but to either face the devastation of the terminator onslaught or break themselves upon the anvil of previously concealed heavy armor. It is said that Ger'zass had personally had lifted the last living Craul general before dashing him to death against the hull of his command tank. The icon of the 42nd is an homage to a creature on their home-world, the Nostraman burrowing monoceros. A fearsome creature that although blind, is an adept underground hunter. Omnivorous, though it prefers a carnivorous diet. The creature excells at ambushing targets through its burrowed tunnels, creating vortex of earth that its prey cannot escape from, and having no escape from being gored upon its horns. The hide of the creature is intensely armored, meant to absorb any loose debris and prevent injury from accidental cave-ins. For these features, the 42nd took it upon themselves as their heraldry. An armored apex predator in its environment, striking fast and without remorse. Displaying and goring their foes upon their tanks and treads like the horn of the monoceros. http://i.imgur.com/9roKOv7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/agNZwK5.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/wFgCrf4.jpg I have a shot of a dreadnought I was making for this company too. I'm not sure if I want to grab Deredo's or Leviathans for his ancient brothers. http://i.imgur.com/fvjA3qK.jpg -edit- not sure how to scale images... Sorry if these are too big!- 282 replies

Greetings, brethren! I've had a WIP blog over in the Blood Angels section for a few years now, and have been working away at the successors, the Blood Suns, that I have info about in my signature. I'm about 7 death company and 12 terminators away from finishing a complete 2000pt Death Company force AND a 2000pt Archangels All Terminator force. But I got an itch for 30k, and I couldn't scratch it hard enough.... so here begins this other WIP Blog. I decided to post it here so I can do other things like my Inquisitor allies, terrain, and other projects I also work on which aren't Blood Angel successors as well. My Heresy force will be the Ultramarines, and I'm going for an all infantry and dreadnought Zone Mortalis list first, then a 2000pt list with only some rhinos, and then 3000 with heavier transports for killer units. With that lengthy intro, here's to the models! I decided to do some Fulmentarus Terminators first. I am using the Betrayal at Calth box and some bits from the internet. Here they are laid out neatly: Here they are with combi-meltas. 4 are the combi meltas from tactical Calth kits, and 1 is from the Praetor who comes in the Box. And here they are with reaper autocannons. I used the Chaos Teminator Autocannon bit from eBay sellers, as that was going to be much cheaper than buying 5 sets of the Cataphractii Special Weapons sets. Of course, after searching for bits for months to put this project together, 2 weeks after I start someone starts selling only the autocannons on there. Cest la vie! I magnetized all the weapons in the wrist. Using such small 1.5x3mm magnets means there's not a lot of length added in the wrist. I set the arm magnet in by drilling a hole, and just glued the other magnet right onto the wrist of the hand. Painted up, the length won't be noticeable. The autocannons gets a few funny angles due to how I drilled them and the arms end, but we'll just call those "action poses." I'm still fishing around for 2 more cyclone missile launchers. I got 2 metal ones and 1 plastic one from the current tactical terminator kit. Criticism and compliments welcome. Still need to put shoulders and heads on these guys, but the hard work is done for now.

"Damn the torpedoes! All ahead full!" -Admiral Dvid Fargutt, M.2 The Grand Cruiser Libertas Reginam broke from the warp with a scream, the immaterium refusing to let her go. Her escort vessels, a small strike force of 10 other cruisers and a multitude of escorts followed close behind, quickly gathering in formation as the auspex went live. The return immediately showed a mass of XVII legion in orbit over Autrex Prime, already moving to engage the 129th's strike force. The Fleetmaster, Captain Sawn Konnore reviewed the information from the hololithic display, the 3d representation of the battle space updated every second. He was a proud man, renowned amongst his brethren as one of the best fleet masters in the legion. His armor was an artificed variant of Mk III, festooned with armorial awards, and bonding studs. He carried a sheathed blade across his back, the handle spartan in comparison to the rest of the weapon. In the crook of his arm, a Macragge pattern vox helm rested, covered in esoteric instruments to aid with visualization and communication of the battlespace. He was silent as information began to be called out by his subordinates. Commander Juntar spoke out from his station below the command rotunda, "XVII Legion ships!Assault formation! Fleet Master! They outnumber us three to one!" Sawn looked over at his second in command, his white beard and hair painted a dull red by the command lighting. "Then it is an even fight. Warborn, Tallassar Rex, Jewel of Veridia! Execute the Vairos Feint, targeting the Battle-Barge Ex Valoris. All other vessels! Fire at will! Burn their traitorous hides!" Juntar looked to him, "And us sire?" "Find me their Commander. Let us cast them from the sky." Hi all, Looong hobby hiatus for me. As I've eased back into things, I'm considering starting a small 30k force. I've chosen the Sons of Horus as I really like the colour scheme and the background. No idea if they are a competitive Horus Heresy army. Not sure I'm too bothered about that aspect though. Also, representing the harsh Chtonian culture of the Legion on the models, through iconography, weapons, etc... sounds like a fun project to me. I'd like the force to represent the SoH Pre-Heresy/at the onset of the Heresy, before their fall into damnation. What I'm doing now is putting some concept art together to get a feel for the force and make me understand how the army is going to fit together visually. I thought that banners would be a good start as they are a focal point of any army. I've tried to mock up some designs, but I was curious if anyone had any feedback on these. Do they fit your understanding of the Legion? Are they impactful enough? Finally, does anyone know any good reference material specifically for SoH banners? Has anyone painted anything they'd like to share? I'd appreciate any feedback you guys have, searching the internet hasn't yielded as much as I'd like. Here's what I came up with:
