"Seen those warriors of Slaanesh? They've got flayed skin. Flayed. Skin." (I couldn't resist.)

The skin looks good, though I agree it would be more realistic with some extra on the nose. Not too much, just a little.

Little flappy bits for ex-noses it is then ;)

And after a bit of Google browsing with a few :cuss, really, glad I haven't eaten yet, moments...I'll be adding a bit more detail.

Moar flappy bitz!! Seriously good work man. I enjoy seeing your work.

And I yours. Lots of Chaos love around at the moment. Even with the current Dex ;)

To be fair I don't win an awful lot but I care not. I have fun painting and I'm lucky to have got into a circle of gamers that play for fun/for the story, y'know?

The chaos codex is alright s'long as you stay away from the super serious gamers whose only motivation is to win at all the cheesey costs lol.

Actually tomorrow night I've got a game on in my house. A three way. Myself with my hodge podge of chaos and two friends, one with his Tau and the other most likely rocking Typhus and 210 plague zombies. .. lol

That sounds like fun. I used to build armies to game with but I rarely get to play so, I just paint for fun now. But I like painting Chaos and with EC and Night Lord's being my favorite legions for years I may as well paint legal units because you never know.

I'm lucky too when it comes to groups though as my lot are often asking me to play even though they know it'll likely not happen. And not just 40k either. Blood Bowl, X-Wing, Malifaux and other systems. Annoyingly though, Nurglez has an ability of cursing dice with his "anything but a one". :cuss

Same here! I got started with the third edition codex which was amazing. Us Nightlords got Night Vision, extra fast attack and our raptors weren't 0-1. There were veteran skills for all, so you could craft an ancient original legion who had been warring for 10,000 years or a newly turned renegade chapter who was barely indistinguishable from a loyalist.

Then that fourth ed turd pile dropped and I hated Gav Thorpe's face. I honestly can't see the huge complaint with the newest codex. It's way stronger and more characterful than the last. Sure there are a few "duds" like the hellbrute or the warptalons, but even those aren't broken beyond repair. Most of my army's professional life has been changing between 40k Chaos, vanilla legion and (now that massacre has dropped) actual Nightlords.

Admittedly, ever since Forgeworld's Imperial Armour 2: Second Edition came out and declared all FW books "legal" to use without permission, I've stuck with the Massacre rules. The 40k Chaos marine codex can make decent Nightlords, but Massacre absolutely *NAILS* what being midnight clad is all about ^_^

Problem with that is you're using Horus Heresy rules (which show the Legions better than any rules which have come before) and I wasn't aware that those were fine to use in 40k. I thought it was the Index Astartes stuff now that FW mark each entry for its 40k compatibility type (40k, Lord of War, Super Heavy, etc).

But...if your gaming group are cool with that then even better. We've all seen what gaming with a bunch of idiots can do to someone lately.

It specifically states in the Warhammer world warriors code that HH are not free to use in normal 40k. It's only FW 40k army lists (such as assault vanguard in Badab II) and FW models with 40k approved stamps that are 'legal' in normal games and no longer require permission. Having said that, HH rules are far more interesting and balanced in my opinion so if your local gaming group don't mind playing against them, well consider yourself very lucky. People may claim that HH is overpowered, but this isn't true at all. 30k is designed to be played at 2000 - 3000pts where as most 40k tends to be played at around 1850. You will have a very hard time winning with HH rules in less than 1500pt.

Well were always here, I just made a convert to the XVIth as I showed him my 2000pt list.

So once horus is in another will jump from 40k and it's broken game style to 30k ;)

Well, like I've said before it'll be EC for 40k so I can be more warped with those and proper Chaos stuff. Which reminds me...I have some flayed noses to do. And maybe a little more flayed flesh, and possibly start on the Lord's head which needs the back half skinning and the face riveted in place.

I imagine once Horus, Sanguinius, Dorn and the Lion are sculpted and released there will be a lot more 30k converts. The loyalists also have an easier time maintaining a 30k/40k army than Traitor forces. The Traitors loose too much. That's why certain units, I'm looking at you land speeders, will probably never make it into my 30k lists. If I convert my obliterators right, I can use them as Mechanicus auxiliary support. Obviously, with a darker side. ;)

Oh to have some speeders in my Word Bearers :'( Guess thats the downside to building my Bearers and Deathguard so they work with 30/40k lists
