About Lord Commander Scrymgeour

Lord Commander Scrymgeour's Achievements

  1. In a previous edition, I used to have a regular opponent with my (underpowered) blood angels against his (very strong) necrons. I won almost every game we played despite him almost tabling me every time. I think it's a gret idea, as others have said, there are tonnes of real world, cultural and 40k lore examples. It also, as someone has mentioned, means that both players can walk away thinking "What a great game, I really feel like I won something." It only really matters if you need to declare a winner out loud in any case. Unless you're in a tournament, don't bother with "I'm the winner and you're a :cussing loser." YOur mum probably taught you better than that, you should have listened.
  2. Just a thought on this. The Blackadders lose influence as the series progress.. He is much less important to the realm in goes forth than in the first Blackadder. He goes from influening history to being unable to do anything against its forces. Which suits the grimdark pretty well I think. He wouldn't be the one sinng the peace treaty with the Tau, he'd be the one trying to deal wwth the messed up logistics of the imperial guard coming into contact with the Greater Good. protecting his neck from teh decisions of the Ruperts doing the signing
  3. Looks like it could be a good way to get indominatus stuff for cheap considering the cost of teh new boxes
  4. A long long time ago there was a story about a lone space marine who was stuck on a planet with a carnifex. I think it was in Inferno or maybe warhammer monthly
  5. Nah, its just a decentralised caesaro-papist pyramidal hegemony with noble houses and decadent cardinals where autonomous fortresses full of warrior monks are the most effective military force and where trade is handled by adventuring families with no long distance stock markets and investor class in sight. I'm stealing this for the blurb of my new book
  6. The most interesting part of this is alll the NLP stuff there. All that price stuff is classic sales scam material. see also the no timewasters part. etc
  7. I tried this exact scheme on my Sanguinary Priests many years ago.. Mine was :cuss. Yours is excellent. Great job
  8. Have you read the inquisitor game book? Quite a lot of the Imperium IS a Psyop. See also genestealer cults. That's assuming you mean Psyop to be when one or more parties seeds propoganda or disinformation into media, advertising, etc etc
  9. they did this with my (sorry, some of these armies aren't 40k) high elves back in 5th edition again when they did plastic beastmen my space marines in 3rd ed necrons when they did plastic my metal guard when they released plastic cadians Even a tiny forgeworld marine is quite a lot bigger than a metal rogue trader one, or a 2nd ed plastic one. It happens, scale changes, and quality gets better (sometimes)
  10. Lovely stuff... I love that they aren't merely stereotypes... the Blood angels devastator is brilliant
  11. Well..... When I get my second knight I am so definitely stealing this idea. That first mask is one of the best conversions of this kit I've seen, and so simple.
  12. I saw this on Ebay, it has been sold now, and I can't find the creator anywhere, but I think the chains look awesome, as well as the slightly stripped down armour http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFgxNjAw/z/G70AAOSw-7RVEFBm/$_1.JPG?set_id=880000500F
  13. As a thought, I've been looking at the blightkings for a while and thinking of iron warriors. A tiltshield here, a bloody great gun there and maybe a rebreather attached to one of the more brutal helmets. The only difficulty I can forsee are suitable no nonsense legs.
  14. Those conversions sound ace! Cannot wait to see them!
