Hi all, Started this guy a couple of months back, got busy, left him half finished. Came back today and cleaned him up - the eyes are bad, the painting is pretty rushed, and I could have cleaned more mold lines, but at least he's done and I'd say "Tabletop Ready". I originally started him as part of my "Crimson Castellan" chapter revamp, however due to there already being a novel fleshing them out that overrides what I'd already done (before I found out it was a thing), I'll likely be just changing it to a new chapter that wears red. Honestly I could just say it's a "Loyalist Thousand Sons Sorcerer"... but that would be Heresy! Bits (sorry if I don't remember them all): - Dark Angels Hooded Head - Deathwatch Cloaked Back - Tzeench Sorcerer Chest / Arms / Wood-Effect Shoulder - Severin Loth Skull/Scroll Shoulder - Mechanicus Glaive-Head (replaced Sorcerer Staff Head) - Sternguard Veteran Legs - Old Metal Ultramarine Base (I think it was Calgar's?) - Backpack Sternguard Veteran (or some Chaplain/Sargeant/Important Marine) He's a Librarian of his chapter who guards their Librarium; and like the other Librarians of his chapter he doesn't fully wear his armor blue. Would need to make a lore reason for this, but mainly because I'd started painting it red before I remembered Librarians were mostly blue! Hi all, Long time lurker, first time poster! All my previous "conversions" have just consisted of using pieces and 3rd party bits to put stuff together. Had an idea for a counts-as Librarian for a customer SM chapter so this is my first attempt at anything significant. The chapter is sea themed, toying with the idea of calling it Sons of Poseidon, the tides will purge... The Librarian, aka The Drowned Priest uses the free Slaughter Priest I got from the first issue of the re-released White Dwarf many months ago as a base. Here is my very amateur attempt: Holding the chapters relic weapon, The Trident. Idea for the other thing was meant to be an ancient chapter artefact, some kind of lantern (thinking Thresh's lantern from League of Legends). Hoping it'll look like wet matted/dreadlocked hair hanging down his face rather than a squid on his head... yes went with the sea theme but didn't want to go in that direction! For reference, first squad of marines: And Dreadnought: Obviously need to do bases but still undecided!

Hi folks, figured I'd start a thread where I dump my WIP and finished pictures, rather than spamming the BA Today thread. First up is my WIP Astorath, which I've decided to do a little more golden than normal, the pictures show base coats and a single wash only, but so far I'm liking him. This is the first model I've used Vallejo Liquid Goild on and I highly recommend it. GW's golds have got nothing on this stuff, though I'm a bit miffed that I can't clean my brushes in plain water anymore. Anyways, here's the pictures (sorry for potato quality, mobile phone cameras are of the debil!)
