Greetings to you all! I have for many a year been plucking away in the WIP thread, but as most of the things I put there are actually finished by the time I post, I thought it a bit more apt to have a thread here as well - and as there is not far from though to action, thus it is done now. The aim of this thread is for me to post pictures of the various B&C permissable armies that I usually work on and the units belonging to them, which I finish. Currently, I have the following armies in my possession: Dark Angels (1st, 2nd and Battle Company) - about 5000 points total Chaos Space Marines (Death Guard, World Eaters, Black Legion & Fallen Angels) - about 4500 points Chaos Daemons (Tzeentch, Nurgle & Khorne) - about 3000 points Imperial Guard allies (Death Korps of Krieg) - about 400 points Grey Knight allies - about 400 points Tyranids - about 8000 points As you can see, there is plenty of potential for varied things to be shown and displayed here - and I look forward to sharing with you all. Thus, with no further ado, I bid you welcome to my thread of finished works from the forge of Master Ciaphas! Faithfully, Master Ciaphas

Well my Ravenwing is back to its old shenanigans. Now with Crusade rules. Talonmaster Tornado Squadron 1 - 3 AC, 2 HB, 1 MM Tornado Squadron 2 - 3 AC, 2 HB, 1 MM Typhoon Squadron - 3 TML, 3 HB 50 power. I haven't picked up the new points book yet, so I don't know the current points. First game was against Tau. He said it was a Farsight faction. Coldstar Commander + Drone 1 Breacher Team - 10 + Big Drone 1 Pathfinder Team - 10 w/ 3 Rail Rifles 3 Broadsides Hammerhead Tidewall - Shieldline & Defense Platform It was nice to see the shield wall in action, I think it is such a cool feature of the Tau to have a relatively large amount of terrain for a non-imperial army. And their terrain actually moves and is useful to the army. It was also nice to see at Tau army that wasn't 3 Commanders, an F-Ton of Drones, and the minimum amount of Fire Warriors to make the army legal. His Coldstar was in kept in Reserves, everything else deployed, the Pathfinders in the Defense Platform. I deployed everything. I went first. Wiped his Broadsides out, had enough shots left over to damage the Hammerhead. His turn, the hammer head kills a speeder from the first Tornado squadron. Second Turn, the Hammerhead and Breacher team are destroyed. His turn, the Coldstar comes in, he does some damage with both units but not enough to kill a speeder. Third Turn, Coldstar dies, and destroyed the Shieldline, the unit with the damaged speeder flew off to work on the objective. His turn, the speeder unit he damaged in the previous turn is now out of range, so the little damage he is able to do is to full health speeders, and not enough to see one off. Fourth turn, the Defense Platform and the Pathfinder Team are killed. Fifth Turn, the damaged speeder unit completes the mission and I win on VP. THOUGHTS - I think he should have put both infantry units in the Tidewall, since they are treated as embarked on an open-topped transport, they can shoot me, but I can't shoot them until I destroy the Tidewall. The mission was I had to leave his side of the table and he had to leave mine. Units that fly and vehicles require 2 turns to complete the action, everything else can do it in one. So both of his infantry units could do it in 1 turn, but his commander and everything I had required 2 turns. His commander was the only unit that got close, but he also parked his commander next to my Typhoon Squadron. I think if he booked it up the board with his Tidewall and used everything else to run defense. He could have made it difficult for me to deal with everything pushing forward together. Also with the Tidewall advancing every turn, 2 units of Breachers would have made more sense than the pathfinders, because with assault weapons he could still be shooting. The only rule I remembered to use was JINK. I completely forgot to use any of my other rules, including doctrines turn 1. So I went home and made a cheat sheet, for Game 2.

Greetings fellow Unforgiven, After dabbling in a few other armies in recent years, I am excited to return to my favourite army, the First Legion. It's been over 10 years since I first started collecting the Unforgiven, so it's great to be back. This thread will (hopefully) serve to document everything about this fantastic hobby - naturally I will post up models as I paint them, but I also hope to include battle reports, tactics ideas, and even some fluff/fan fiction as my Ravenwing army grows. My amazing wife gave me this journal for Christmas, so I'm looking forward to recording my games in that as well. So, without further ado, let me introduce you to my Ravenwing journey Prologue: On Ravens' Wings +++ Archive Retrieval Begins+++ +++Log Date: 256.M35+++ The air in The Avery was cold and still. Situated behind the observation deck on the strike cruiser Nevermore, The Avery housed the cyber-ravens used by the Dark Angels' Second Company. It also provided Jacques with a quiet place to think. The newly elected 151st Grand Master of the Ravenwing was still adjusting to his new role. Everyone, including Jacques himself, had expected Talonmaster Elijah to succeed the recently departed Master Arvhael. The oldest warrior in the legendary Second Company, Elijah had more than enough experience to lead, and as Arvhael's closest advisor, represented a familiar hand. But, in the words of the Supreme Grand Master, a familiar hand was not what the Ravenwing needed right now. The galaxy was changing, and a fresh perspective was needed in this difficult time. Dark whispers had reached the ears of the Unforgiven, and Jacques represented a new approach to combatting the new threats. As Huntmaster of a squadron of Black Knights, Jacques had earned a reputation for bold and innovative tactics, a reputation he was expected to maintain and extend as Grand Master. A cybernetic squawk broke Jacques' reverie - it was time. Time for Jacques to take up the leadership of the Second Company. Time to don the mantle of a Knight of Caliban. Time to Hunt the Fallen.

In the fluff portion of the codex, under Ravenwing Squads (pg 44) it discusses how the squads work in mixed 10 strong squads. 6 bikes, 2 AB, 2LS. A formation we cant even do? (pg 110) Also BK's cannot combat squad?

Just thought I’d open up the discussion on this (again...) in light of the Warhammer Community article here - https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/12/15/secret-orders-of-the-dark-angels-dec-15gw-homepage-post-3/ What I specifically wanted to discuss is, are these descritptions canon now? It’s just a copy/paste job from the unnoficial Lexicanum website, which is a first from GW, to my knowledge. Lexicanum (unofficial site) has had these descriptions up for at least a year now and thye’re mostly based on speculation and some educated guesses, at least regarding the Firewing, Ironwing and Stormwing. It just seems like an odd thing for GW to back. Why legitimise an unofficial (unless I’ve missed something) website’s lore? What’s your take? Edit: made some changes to try and make things a little clearer. Maybe it’s appropriate that a thread about the DA secret organisation is a bit confusing. :)

I've just done a series of practice games and a local tourney and after trying various options have been playing with 2/3 bike squads. These guys have been doing a serious amount of work from hosing Eldar guardians to tying up tanks for round after round by charging them to providing a 4++ screen for characters. The 3+ 4++ 2 wounds T5 makes them really sticky and for what they can do there a points efficient choice if your running them with buckup from a Talon Master and Sammael. People are also using cheap screening troops which bolter spam with ignores cover eats for breakfast

Been toying around with lists for a local comp and I keep taking out the tanks and dreads as I'm running Hellblasters and plasma inceptors, + Sam & Talon Master The good old fav's of black Knights seem a tad expensive anyways a standard bike squad seems decent value if your giving it ignores cover & re-rolls. Attack bikes are excruciatingly expensive for what they are as are standard speeders. so 4 bikes 2 melta guns sgt has storm bolter (multiple squads prob 3) Makes use of speed of the raven has 2 short range D6 weapons & 18 bolter shots at half range Anyone got some better loadouts for horde killing / tank hunting? how many squads?

Greetings Brothers, I finally found some time to work on my Sammael Master of the Ravenwing Jetbike “Sableclaw” Counts-as Conversion, say that five times fast! I’ve included some close up photos of the areas of the robes that I sculpted. I’ve also included some photos of the Talonmaster with Sammael. Some people wanted to see a size comparison so I also included some photos of the regular Sammael on Corvus and my conversion at the end. You can read more about the conversion on my website here: http://chamber42.com/blog/archives/1190 http://chamber42.com/blog/wp-content/grand-media/image/Sammael-Jetbike-01.jpghttp://chamber42.com/blog/wp-content/grand-media/image/Sammael-Jetbike-02.jpghttp://chamber42.com/blog/wp-content/grand-media/image/Sammael-Jetbike-03.jpghttp://chamber42.com/blog/wp-content/grand-media/image/Sammael-Jetbike-04.jpghttp://chamber42.com/blog/wp-content/grand-media/image/Sammael-Jetbike-05.jpghttp://chamber42.com/blog/wp-content/grand-media/image/Sammael-Jetbike-06.jpghttp://chamber42.com/blog/wp-content/grand-media/image/Sammael-Jetbike-07.jpghttp://chamber42.com/blog/wp-content/grand-media/image/Sammael-Jetbike-08.jpghttp://chamber42.com/blog/wp-content/grand-media/image/Sammael-Jetbike-09.jpghttp://chamber42.com/blog/wp-content/grand-media/image/Sammael-Jetbike-10.jpghttp://chamber42.com/blog/wp-content/grand-media/image/Sammael-Jetbike-11.jpghttp://chamber42.com/blog/wp-content/grand-media/image/Sammael-Jetbike-13.jpg
