    Wrapping Wreckas

    By zulu.tango

Hit the throttle on the Wreckas last week. I've been painting pretty slowly this year all things considered, decided to change that with this project. Finished up free-hand on a few items, got the squigs painted up, did the bases and oil washes last week resulting in a final project I'm pretty happy with!    I dug out some of the leftover terrain bits I had from the sector imperialis/Chalnath terrain. I put a fine terrain paste around those bits and then put in some sand to act as larg

    Square Pants Bob

    By Bouargh

Hi Folks,   Today’s blog entry is a little bit specific as it deals with something different from my usual inputs: instead of reporting hobbying progress, I will talk about a trail I did for a new technique (à la TITH – i.e. something that is not new in general but new for me).     The technique is often reported on purpose of adding details and create battle damages or war-torn marks on miniatures. But beyond painting damages, the sponge might be used on purpose of

    Jagieŀŀo inspects their prizes

    By GSCUprising

The Resistance have finally captured the war machines they believe they require to make their stand.   Brutus, the Malcador, reliable, dependable the spine of their battleline. She will not fail them. She will hold the line, her battlecannon roaring, her sponsons blazing as she paves the way for the Resistance's advance. XIVth Legion build

    By W.A.Rorie

So am I back from Indiana. I have to head back to move In-Laws into a Retirement Center, in a few weeks. And of course everything goes sideways at work moment I get back. So hobby time has been non existence. Silver Lining is LGS not get Saturnine until Monday, so I can get everything I need to do first i.e. my XIXth Legion and Exorcists  Call to Arms Vows, that I have not started. And won't have time this weekend.   I did start on building one of My XIVth Legion Commanders, not sure w

The Red Hunters Part 1.25

Just a small update as I have been messing with my Imperial Citizens, Planetary Governor, Imperial Agents and Inquisitors  lately. One model that has been bugging me is the Ancient. more specifically is the banner.     While it is cool and easier to paint, the Armageddon on the banner bugs me     My WIP Solution   Some Sprue Glue and sanding, still more to do deciding if I want the Ork Skulls on it still.

The Imperial Governor and Imperial Citizens Part 1

So in my gaming groups upcoming campaign we are going to have side missions to accomplish. The one I am working on is a Locate and Defend until Extraction of a Planetary Governor and Imperial Citizens. The mission is still being worked on but the models have been cleaned and mounted to bases.    Kromlech's Imperial Governor.  Really nice model from Kromlech. I am always surprised by their quality.    Imperial Civilians - Grimdark Minis by War Scenery  They

Job's is a Big'Un - Castellan Knight - Part IV

Hi Folks!   Final entry of this series with a completed tiny titan. Or alike.   The paintjob has finally been quite straight forward and easy to complete. I followed the scheme I have used in previous years for my Styrix freeblade and latter with its 3 Moiraxes minions. Seizing the opportunity of a big bargain, I have added this year 1 Castellan (the star of the day) and 2 Armigers that will need some love soon.   Enough words, here come the beast:

Surviving Armaggeddon

So with the drop of 11th, GW has reworked some of the combat patrols and possibly nuked the rest. I’m hoping not, but at current I will only have four working CPs at time of writing.    The Vengeful Brethren (DA) The Vardenghast Swarm (Tyranid) Bane-Slayer’s Bulwark (votann) Assault Force (SM)   Still under construction is: Dryan Lance (IG) ‘Ardmob (orks)   So these will be the ones I focus on for now. It’s kind of one of the reasons that I didn’t want to

Lists for the List God: Loxodon Guard 2026

Hey guys, back once again with the Lists for the List God. This time my "Dark Angels" the Loxodon Guard. When I first started this project back in the COVID times, i picked a dark green and white colour scheme. When I show my brother some pictures he said "So, this is a Dark Angel successor?". Of course i said "No, I'm running them as vanilla marines, unknown origins so I can flex into whatever is fun at the time". Now 11th edition his here and I have chosen to flex into Dark Angels lol. Here ar

"A small mind is a tidy mind, that is true. But those Gangers are so doltish they’d summon a daemon  before they’d realise they were reading a heretical text. Thank the Emperor they’re all illiterate."   Poltus Hale, Ordo Malleus Interrogator           "Well, I should have said, Inquisitor-Lord Westin, wants to speak with you about, helping, Inquisitor-Lord "Ares"," Melisende said.      "Melisende, how are you doing," I ask quiet

Ordo Malleus Inquisitor Thrace and his Retinue

Well I created a blog for my exploits and adventures with the Inquisition.  So as the first official Blog as the other posts have been moved here, We start off with Inquisitor Thrace as seen in =][= REDACTED by the Authority of the Inquisition =][= stories     Front Row working back (Left to Right)    Deathworld Veteran Rip "Trey" Maxis. Job's is a Big'Un - Castellan Knight - Part III

Hi Folks,   It is now time to share the armour panels. I have decided to stick to the Eshin grey/Wraithbone combo. No third colour variation with red like on my Moiraxes. I will keep these fancy trends for the Armingers only (and I will have 2 to be painted soon).       The full tilt panoply is bicolored only on most parts. Even if I have been largely inspired by the Korvax scheme when I did my first IK model, I will not, this time, add red stripes on the legs. I wil

The Red Hunters Part 1

Well I decided to make my Armageddon Marines into Red Hunters, and while building I decided to add my Dawn of War Onslaught models to the pile. Then I pulled the unbuilt Hammerstrike Storm Speeder, Assault Intercessors, and Heavy Intercessors.    Here is the built models:   Start of the Intercessor squad with Ancient   Librarian and Judiciar    Chaplain and Eradicators   Heavy Bolter Eradicator   Vanguard Veterans an

Venerable II: The hero of Brax

There's a nice freehands on b&c recently so instead solving errors in my yellow and finishing the dread for CtA I'd wasting time and got tons of fun.    I'd try add simple ribbon with single word   Well, it's looks like I succeed and then Mr. I can do better in me start wasting even more time. It's not like it's something new I just paint NMM on flat surface so ... Good experience and fun to do.   "Mommy, Mommy look! I'm painturh!"   "Ok, Timmy,

CtA26 - Serberys Sulphurhounds

Hi Folks,   While working on my Job's a Big'un pledge, I keep on working, in parallel on my first pledge. After Hastarii it was high time to give some attention to the Sulphurhounds. This is a unit I bought almost 2 years ago on purpose of reinforcing an exiting unit of the same. But, as I never really used the latter, these models stayed a long time in their box. A true Pile-of-Shame component.   As usual now, I've sticked to the existing scheme so that they will mix perfect

Lists for the List God: Bloody Greys 2026

So my last post was about the list plans for my World Eaters warband the Skull Brethren. Now we are going to look at the my traitor guard army, The Bloody Greys. Like I said in my World Eaters entry, I don't play super competitive, but I welcoming to any suggestions or ideas. Astra Militarum is probably my least played army, or at least my knowledge of what's good and what's bad is probably the lowest out of my four projects. So here we go!   Imperium - Astra Militarum - Grizzled Compa

Working on a Custodian Combat Patrol

I'm working on building all 6 models required for my Adeptus Custodes Combat Patrol.   Models Required:   ■ 1 × Blade Champion □□ 2 × Allarus Terminators □□□ 3 × Custodes Guard with Sentinel Blade and Praesidium Shield.    I'm building them in this order. I've completed the Blade Champion, and am currently removing the Terminators from the sprue.   Not the most exciting blog, I know. But I need to finish something.

Sons of Horus Green

After undercoating and pre-weathering everything got a good coat of gloss varnish, followed by AK Worn Effects.   Once you put paint on top of the Worn Effects you need to give it about 30-60 minutes for the paint to get tacky.  Then using brushes, water and an old tooth brush you can remove some of the paint - in my case reveal the undercoat in selected area.  If anyone wants to try this you must use the gloss varnish underneath, of you don't you'll burn the undercoat off too.

Venerable

Here we have yellow horror and not the Red terror. Now I'm working on redemptor for Imperial fists. Yellow. Yellow is my favorite color to look at but not to paint.  The plan is simple. Clear, bright yellow to orange gradient and NMM steel for all but armour.    There is very little progress so far. I'd blocked flat panels. Put base colours for steel and waste a lot of time painting little stupid landscape in reflection on leg . And it's looks like my phone have issues w

Job's is a Big'Un - Castellan Knight - Part II

Hi Folks.   A small update since Part I, with the big guns.     I have decided not to repeat the knight livery colours on the weapons and to go instead with plain black casings. I have voluntarily limited the hue so taht it does not look like a clown: with the schemes I have already applied on the Moiraxes and the Styrix, more variety in scheme would not be a quality criteria and would instead bring too much discrepencies and lack of harmony. This black and dry brus

Liber Exorcismus

I have been working on my Grey Knights, Inquisition, and Howling Griffons. I have been leaning at reducing my Howling Griffon planed forces and moving back them to back to Exorcists. I have a lot of models for Space Marines so having Multiple armies does make some sense. The ideas I keep having follow one of two ideas, Badab War or Grey Knight support. Here is what I am thinking.    Chapter Name Founding Chapter Info Badab Ties Forces Probabilty

CtA26 Blight Hauler

This guy done. It's took a lot. Result is almost what I want. It's still need touches here and there but I'm just burnet a bit. So I sealed it with varnish. Everything would be based together once Plague Marines are done.  That's a nice mini and this is a great experience of building this much trims and curvy details with NMM. Most the time I spend fighting face panel. I like the result and funny it's a simpliest part. Once I reached flat parts real proplems appears. And the rear leg t

"There are those amongst our Ordo who say that I seek advancement for my own purposes, and they are correct. My purpose is to destroy the daemonic and if I must rise to command an entire sector to do so, then so be it. I am a servant of the Emperor and only those who consort with Warp-spawn need fear my ambition." Torquemada Coteaz, Inquisitor Lord         I can not go back to sleep. The recurring dream. Job's is a Big'Un - Castellan Knight - Part I

Hi Folks,   Now that my magnetization task is completed canceleld, I may start working on the paint job.   The knight superstructure is a really easy and fast track work as it is basically a big dry brush. The Castellan chassis is also less detailled that the Questoris chap: less accessories, less details on the sub elements. Part of the molded details is also quite hard to reach, for example pipes around the plasma cores.     I have plans to keep my curr
