So am I back from Indiana. I have to head back to move In-Laws into a Retirement Center, in a few weeks. And of course everything goes sideways at work moment I get back. So hobby time has been non existence. Silver Lining is LGS not get Saturnine until Monday, so I can get everything I need to do first i.e. my XIXth Legion and Exorcists Call to Arms Vows, that I have not started. And won't have time this weekend.
I did start on building one of My XIVth Legion Commanders, not sure w
Hit the throttle on the Wreckas last week. I've been painting pretty slowly this year all things considered, decided to change that with this project. Finished up free-hand on a few items, got the squigs painted up, did the bases and oil washes last week resulting in a final project I'm pretty happy with!
I dug out some of the leftover terrain bits I had from the sector imperialis/Chalnath terrain. I put a fine terrain paste around those bits and then put in some sand to act as larg
The Resistance have finally captured the war machines they believe they require to make their stand.
Brutus, the Malcador, reliable, dependable the spine of their battleline. She will not fail them. She will hold the line, her battlecannon roaring, her sponsons blazing as she paves the way for the Resistance's advance.
The Iron Duke, his twin Earthshaker cannons blasting holes in the enemy's fortifications. He guards those retreating and the wounded behind his massive blast shield
Hi Folks,
Today’s blog entry is a little bit specific as it deals with something different from my usual inputs: instead of reporting hobbying progress, I will talk about a trail I did for a new technique (à la TITH – i.e. something that is not new in general but new for me).
The technique is often reported on purpose of adding details and create battle damages or war-torn marks on miniatures. But beyond painting damages, the sponge might be used on purpose of
So, I have joined a local writing group. They meet in the library about four minutes' walk from my house, which is rather convenient. It is a little intimidating having all these pros around me while I whitter on about my stuff. However, I got some good, constructive criticism. I think half the problem with the feedback is that, due to my time in radio and language skills, I can inflect better than most when I read. I think I should get someone else to read my stuff next month, rather than have
Somehow I completely forgot about the blog system here. For three years. Clearly I am a very clever boy.
Anyway, a LONG while ago I started work on trying to make a 3D printable Rhino based on the Mk. 1. However, this ground to a halt as A: I realized there are quite a few Mk. 1 Rhino STLs, both more detailed renditions and faithful reproductions of the original kit (including one that is so accurate it can be used as a source of spare parts for actual Mk. 1 plastic kits!), B: it was
Got a bunch of work done today on the team. Made one mistake, gave the other Breacher head to the Tempestor Prime (aka the Leader) but I think it'll work out that my two close combat troopers have Breacher helmets.
I'm on a roll! That's 4 models finished this year, and it's only March!
Armour is now finished, and based to match the rest of my army (I may add some grassy bits, but that's not as important). Armour paint was a gloss black base coat, with Green Stuff World Cobalt Blue Chameleon paint (the same I used over the white on the Celestian Insidiant, but that had different results as it reacts differently over different base coats).
So now working on both the Ork and Chaos patrols at the same time cause the lining on these marines are causing me headaches.
I did get the Dark apostle, warboss (mostly), a boy and the Turox done.
I;m going to start placing magnets in the bases of these like I did with my nids so they will be easy to carry in the maglock system I have been swapping to.
Also planning to set up a sort of display later as I'm going to start working on my den
Holy hell, I totally forgot to post the pictures of my hellblasters. Probably the 2 squads that do the most damage in the army. Although they rarely make it out alive.
Squad Hades
Squad Gehenna
The squads are named after hells. Seemed appropriate.
Alright, back to the World Eaters next time
Well so Jump Canoness vow was submitted and well completed

The Hearthkyn of the Solbond Gardhird are the heart and soul of the oathband. They are the core members, the first disparate groups of lost, sorrowful, angry Ironkin that Trokk the Denier bound together and forged into a weapon. Without the Hearthkyn, the vengeance of the Gnostari Dominion would be impotent and wasted- they are the very bones of burning justice.

I've finished one of my Celestian Insidiants for your viewing pleasure.
I'm happy with the way it's come out in the end. The purple inner lining of the cloth gives a bit of contrast to the brighter colours of the rest of the model. the only thing I'm not sure about is the eyes... The red is blending in with the Fleur de Lys on the helmet, and I'm considering changing the lense colour. Not sure to what though: A quick mock up with green and blue below. (yellow would be swamped
So again, I love me some characters and my World Eaters have had quite a few over the years. Since 3rd edition my army has gone through many lords, champions and supporting fellows. There's also too many to count and recall. So I have all of my current heroes (or should I say villains)
Ah, the true OG. Khârn the Betrayer. I did have the old school 2nd edition Khârn back in the day. That model was the first model I had "commissioned" when a friend of my mine painted it for me as a birt
Well I have multiple Inquisitors and guess I have Cabal or a Conclave for my Gaming Groups Upcoming Campaign. So I need to put them in their Ordos Majoris and Minoris

Kill-Zone Tomb World is an updated version of last edition's Gallowdark terrain set. With the addition of scatter terrain, teleporter pads, and breachable walls the "close quarters combat" kill zone is a vast improvement to its predecessor's rule-set. However I love the look of the Gallowdark terrain and was in no great rush to paint another large batch of terrain so it sat unpainted under my desk for the last 5 months. With the completion of my Wolf Scouts I was looking for another project and
I decided it would be more fun for me to ignore what everyone else wanted me to do and build some ODST Bullfrogs for my Tempestus Aquilons Kill Team.
Here's my first Trooper.
Got in a few games of Combat Patrol over the weekend. Local CP league seems to have cooled off, but still had a few opponents. The manager managed to rope in a pair of spearhead players (they forgot which sunday was spearhead/CP) into doing games since I had 6 with me that day. They choose Octavius and the Assault Brood. I took on the Tyranid player with Vengeful Brethren. Forward position was the mission of the day. Now my opponent plays Tyranids as well, so they had decent knowledge of the gam
An update to two of my Kill Teams, my main Blades of Khaine, and starting my Celestian Insidiants.
First off, I've mostly finished my Scorpion Exarch with Claw/Chainsword, which is pretty standard colourwise, and I doubt I'll be doing anything different with the Dire Avengers and Banshees.
Second, I have started blocking in the colours for the Sisters, with teal cloth and white armour. Once the darker colours get blocked in, it'll get a bit more contrast
Just a small update.....and 4 more days to make the deadline This one is going to come down to the wire.
Heads: Done
Cherubs: skin tone and wings done, need to do the rest
Bases: done
Robes: not started
Linings: base coated
Bodies: Black Leather needs highlights, Metallics need to done, Brown Leathers need to be done

Multi-Meltas- highlighted need metallics and effects
I still have a lot of m
Well we are down to the final 5 days remaining for this month's challenge. And I wonder if I am going to make it. So with that in mind I took time to work on my Retributors this weekend.
I had issues with my vallejo paints clogging my airbrush so I switched to Army Painter Warpaints Air Triad of Regiment Grey (followed by string tone wash), Uniform Grey, and Cadre Grey.
Then once again back to Warpaints Air, this time Encarmine Red for the Multi-Meltas
Well thats thunderhawk 2 me 0.
Managed to get a nice red base coat on through the airbrush. Masked up the wings to do the black details and there was no paint coming out the airbrush. So I disassembled the air brush and the nozzle was so jammed up only about 1/3 of the needle was showing through the nozzle! So after a bit of cleaning I returned to the thawk, sprayed over what i had masked out, removed the tape and.... paint seepage! I left some lovely tape lines aswell. I tried to sand thes
Hello followers of the Dark Gods! I have been a World Eaters Player since, I want to say 1998., so almost 30 years. Over the years I have bought, sold and traded for models. My warband has gone through many name changes, The Blood Vultures (When my warband used an ungodly amount of raptors) The Crimson Butchers (When my warband was a Chaos Soup army, with daemons and Traitor Guard units) and now we have settle on The Skull Brethren for 9th, 10th and probably 11th edition. The army has ballooned
I've had this happen before too.
Spray it again with the varnish (ensuring it's not too humid out). Similar to the Lahmian medium it clears a lot of it up. not 100%, but left me with a few touch ups vs. completely repainting.
I do like the singing, but my feeling is that it muddies the speaking voice and causes some of it to be more difficult to hear correctly.
I can get behind the idea of the samples at the end of a chapter/act, depending on the length of chapters. Personally, I wouldn't want it to be too often but would be good if used at the end of an act or after a major plot point/milestone had been reached. Give it a bit more gravitas.
