Decided to upgrade the McFarlane Space Marine into a Crimson Fist Captain of some description... I have the old Forgeworld Imperial Space Marine model which must've been right before the mould failed as the joint lines are all over the place. The scale isnt the same but the accessories are almost perfect...

Hi all, Started this guy a couple of months back, got busy, left him half finished. Came back today and cleaned him up - the eyes are bad, the painting is pretty rushed, and I could have cleaned more mold lines, but at least he's done and I'd say "Tabletop Ready". I originally started him as part of my "Crimson Castellan" chapter revamp, however due to there already being a novel fleshing them out that overrides what I'd already done (before I found out it was a thing), I'll likely be just changing it to a new chapter that wears red. Honestly I could just say it's a "Loyalist Thousand Sons Sorcerer"... but that would be Heresy! Bits (sorry if I don't remember them all): - Dark Angels Hooded Head - Deathwatch Cloaked Back - Tzeench Sorcerer Chest / Arms / Wood-Effect Shoulder - Severin Loth Skull/Scroll Shoulder - Mechanicus Glaive-Head (replaced Sorcerer Staff Head) - Sternguard Veteran Legs - Old Metal Ultramarine Base (I think it was Calgar's?) - Backpack Sternguard Veteran (or some Chaplain/Sargeant/Important Marine) He's a Librarian of his chapter who guards their Librarium; and like the other Librarians of his chapter he doesn't fully wear his armor blue. Would need to make a lore reason for this, but mainly because I'd started painting it red before I remembered Librarians were mostly blue! So here he is (Apologies for my bad camera): ~Sanctum Guardian Tacitus~ Cheers, Jupiter

Greetings B&C, I developed a custom Chapter over the last few months with the help of the B&C community. I now wish to actually paint up an army. This is a project I've been wanted to get started for a few months, and I'd like to show you guys as I work through this project from start to finish. You guys can check them out here http://c-mcbride.blogspot.com/2017/05/sons-of-void-final.html https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7QwYlsBz-qyY3JfNk53cDJwZzVKQ2NoU0h4cndSa2xnV0Zv

The Xian Guardians A legion of highly disciplined warriors proficient in the hand to hand combat and diplomacy. They dedicate their lives to protect any innocent living beings, using their diplomatic talents they have been able to save millions of lives from the suffering of war. Their home world is covered in mountains each one home to different temples dedicated to the "Xian", a belief that through the respect of all things, you leave behind a legacy of peace and prosperity. Here's my first rough idea for the 2nd missing legion. A legion based on Shaolin monks and Chinese Mythology. The legions kind and overly optimistic attitude towards others has allowed them to be very successful diplomats. This is defiantly going to extend towards peaceful xenos and results in them denouncing the imperium for their genocide against any thing not human or those who don't aline with the imperial truth. (New Colour Scheme) (Old Scheme) The colour scheme for these guys is based around Shaolin temples rather than the monks. I felt the orange and black of the robes would be to obvious. Though I may integrate these colours into legion units. The original colour scheme had to much green on it and it clashed with red to much, by simply adding some gold to it to replace some of the jade it's really improved it. Rather than use the standard roman numerals I decided to use Chinese symbols. The 2 lines meaning 2.

Greetings! This is a my random project log. I've been away from 40k for some time, I used to go by the name of Araziel with a Nurgle warband called The Pestilent Scourge (they may return at some point, I have some ideas) but I've been drawn back to the hobby with the ideas of small, thematic games and campaigns of Kill Team, Inquisitor and Necromunda and more recently, Shadow War. I aim to collect and build cool little (and maybe some not so little) warbands, projects and stand alone pieces as well as some terrain in the future. The idea for my first warband came to me while reading an Ultramarines novel (I forget the title) about exiled Space Marines. I thought that I could create a really visually interesting set of models under that idea. Before I bore you with fluff, I present my first work in progress Marine! http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o713/cmbailey619/D7CA1101-5DA3-4923-B419-A6CFFB22BB43_zpsqq4enmio.jpg http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o713/cmbailey619/4C0DD3BD-EF18-4D2D-9086-DEDC47AED711_zpsr6l3dvso.jpg And finally, the mandatory scale comparison shot! http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o713/cmbailey619/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-11/F66B35F7-7428-435C-95A9-BD1245CC5677_zpsa6vv6f1q.jpg Other than than the obvious bits such as head swaps and bolters, the entire mini was built using a Grey Knight Terminator. Future plans include filling in the majority of the scripture segments on the armour as well as building scenic bases for him and the squad. C&C welcome! This is my first venture into miniatures in a fair few years now so any pointers would be greatly appreciated Work will be spaced out on these guys because I don't want to rush them like I have other models and armies in the past. Now, for those interested, the backstory for the Exiled Knights; ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Path of the Exile The Bladed Covenant is a fiercely loyal and ritualistic chapter of the Adeptus Astartes. Based on the brutal death world of Praal, who's long solar cycle takes the planet through extreme weather conditions that last years at a time, the Covenant hold no position of greater honour for the rank and file Astartes than that of the Blademaster. A tradition that dates back to the chapters founding, upon ascension to Captain, a marine will appoint one battle brother of his company to the rank of Blademaster. Chosen for their unparalleled skill in close combat, it is a Blademasters sworn duty to protect his Captain through any costs. Once a brother holds this rank, he gives up his future within the chapter and any hope of advancement. He personally selects his Captains honour guard, named the Anointed Guard, from the ranks of the chapters first company elite, and together they are never more than a few steps from their Captain. Whirlwinds of violence on the battlefield, they inspire those around them through noble deeds of honour and sacrifice. More often than not, a Blademaster will fall defending their Captain in glorious combat - this is the greatest honour a Blademaster can achieve and they are remembered within the Chapter of heroes of legend. As each falls, their name is inscribed upon the walls of the Chapters fortress monastery and recorded in ancient times that date back to the Chapters formation. For a Blademaster and the Anointed Guard to allow their Captain's death on the field of battle is considered the ultimate disgrace. They are expected to lay down their lives in an instant, and in those rare moments they fail in their duty, the punishment is the severest the Chapter has to offer: the Death Oath. The Anointed must lay aside all chapter heraldry and are exiled from their home world until one of two conditions is met: they greet the foe who killed their Captain with vengeance, or die trying. Only a handful of Blademasters and Anointed Guard have ever been sentenced to such disgrace, and even fewer return - the galaxy is a harsh and unforgiving place, even for an Astartes. Those that do are welcomed back with open arms and are henceforth appointed to the Chapter Masters personal guard. Chapter Master Grendaal's Anointed Guard is accompanied into battle by three such redeemed Blademasters and act as his most trusted Commanders, a solemn and silent reminder of the ultimate test any Blademaster may be forced to take. Blademaster Reznor is such an exile, searching the galaxy for the Champion of Chaos known as Balantisis the Wretched, for the murder of Captain Vaaro Mathus of the glorious second company during the battle for Hive Dominus on the now dead planet of Saxos Prime. In an even rarer occurrence, most of the Anointed Guard themselves survived and so Reznor is accompanied by four fellow exiles. Their number was once seven, though along the years their company has dwindled as they hunted their pray. Armed only with what they can carry, or else store on their single Stormraven Gunship, the Exiled Knights are a shadow of their former glory to look upon; battered, paint stripped armour that bears no heraldry save for the Imperial eagle, they hunt tirelessly across the galaxy on the path of the Wretched. Masters of ambush and stealth warfare due to their limited numbers, the Knights strike fast and mercilessly in the face of overwhelming odds. For the disgraced dead, there will be no redemption. For the disgraced hunters, there is the glimmer of hope. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Exiles Reznor - The Blademaster Ganaal - The Apothecary The Astartes with the greatest medical expertise within the Exiles. Originally he trained under Brother Artus, the Anointed Guards ranking Apothecary. But when he fell in battle during their hunt, Ganaal became the squads sole member who studied the Chapters medical teachings. Fixed to his belt are canisters containing the gene-seed of his fallen Knights, with the hope that one day the organs can regain their former owners honour in the bodies of future Astartes of The Bladed Covenant. The rise and fall of The Ashen Crows The XI Legion Hey guys, Here's the start of my missing legion project. This is my 4th attempt to create a missing legion, but I hope by creating this blog i will be encourage to follow of through with it till the end. The Lore is currently in the works but basically they have a large amount of apothecaries and do a lot of studing of xenos races. Their primarch is a giant apothecary pretty much. Though due to his upbringing on his home world he is physically the weakness of the primarchs though makes up for it in his vast knowledge of biology and other scientific fields. The primarch landed on a planet which had been devastated by a virus, reducing most living things to ash. The primarch being a primarch was immune to the viruses effects and was found by a recon team. Seeing the child primarch they captured him and took him back to the capitol: a huge network of bio-domes that protects them from the virus. It was the decided that the primarch would be tested on in order to find a cure. All these test devastated the primarch physically and mentally to the point where he developed a spilt personality, one half compassionate, kind, charismatic. the other cold, calculating and savage. his darker side takes over, which through force breaks out and goes to hunt down the scientists. he ends up in a forest, overwhelmed with the beauty and complexity of other life his normal side takes over. eventually found by the head scientist, the primarch finds out he was tested on so that they could find a cure, "to bring this world back from the ashes, you are the ember that will ignite a new age". but also finds that the scientist test him had suffered mentally, traumatised by what they had done to a living being. This pretty much gives the primarch his moral compass, he feels that sacrifices have to be made in order to progress. but feels that humans shouldn't have to suffer in wars. The primarch is trained under the scientists and quickly surpasses them in all fields of science, especially biology. using his knowledge he starts to terraform the planet, then papa emps arrives. The primarch came into the legion with saddness, finding out the suffering affecting the galexy and how men are having to give away their lives in order to fight. He praised all of his new found sons, and promised that one day no one will have to suffer in the acts of war ever again. the first recruits taken from the home planet was criminals, the primarch deeming them the only ones worthless enough to loose nothing from joining the legion. As time went on, the primarch grew to hate the solar axilla and imperial milta and would force them to retreat or he would not fight. seeing it as a waste of life. often before and during battles his personalities would argue, each one having different ways to achieve the same goal. depending on who won out wars could be focused on protecting the world, or bringing it to the torch. "by killing thousands we could save billions". The primarch decided to improve the space marine recruitment process and started to grow test tube humans, whos genetics would allow them to be more susceptible to the gene seed in-plant. The humans born were raised in the ships and fortress of the legion learning the lesson of the primarch and the imperial truth. I'm still working on all the details but this is just a basic outline.
