    Hit the throttle on the Wreckas last week. I've been painting pretty slowly this year all things considered, decided to change that with this project. Finished up free-hand on a few items, got the squigs painted up, did the bases and oil washes last week resulting in a final project I'm pretty happy with!    I dug out some of the leftover terrain bits I had from the sector imperialis/Chalnath terrain. Painting by parts - so obvious I regret not having realized it was a way to go sooner...

As most, or even all, hobbyists than want to end before they even took the time to think out how proceed wisely, I used to have built hundreds of models before painting them. Thousands in facts. And I end up with stuff taht sometimes was impossible to paint in a "satisfying" way because many parts of the model are uneasy to access to. and so paint can be applied except at high cost of contortions, stains and retouching. Which most of the time is worse than the issue it is meant to solve.

The Series continues with the finished Kataphrons taken out of this second Patrol Box. I should say from this ooP (or soon to be) Patrol Box as anew one has been announced.   BTW, what are we goint to find in this new Patrol box?: One Manipulus Five Pteraxii Three Serberys One battleline squad of Skitarii.   I already commented in the forums that it is IMHO a significant change into the structure of the "Patrol" type of content vs. the previous one

A good friend of mine wanted to create a Custodes project that looked more Knightly than they currently do. Their armour usually is all rounded and basically bigger marines, so Stormcast were perfect for the idea he was going for. Since all the plans for this week end have been affected by the Ciaran storm, what can I do nbut stay at home and wait for the wind to fall? I haven't had much time for hobby lately, and I spent most of that time building. But I did get some time to work on my Swarmlord (which I may be using as a Hive Tyrant on foot, but the Swarmlord looks cooler so I went for that). Side note - the new Hormagaunts are SO MUCH BETTER than the old ones. I remember spending more time cleaning mold lines than everything else combined when I built them back in 4th/5th.  I also have (I think) a handle on how I want to go about the background for my fleet

My journey through my 40k Pile of Shame has been a years long travel, and it looks like it reaches to an end. Battle Report: Crusade - Jabberwocky v Daemons

Long time no post! I've been organising a crusade campaign at my local club, and members have gotten really into it, with plenty of games occurring each week, and using the Leviathan campaign rules and supplement.    This month, after an imperial win in month 1, the nids are on the back foot as the imperials take the fight to the swarm. The Chaos raiders are doing some looting and pillaging, and the imperial archive worlds are under assault from both material and immaterial enemies.

Kataphrons completed

After a few days away I finally completed the final steps of assembly of my 2 Kataphons´ Units from my Extermination Maniple - one Destroyer and one Breacher.   The Breachers scheme is finally not as convincing as I initially thought. Getting armour plates reds and tracks grey makes that the visual impact of the armour is a little bit too present I feel. Fun with numbers! (List building)

I'm really happy with how my Celebrants army is progressing. I'm not that bothered about list building in general and don't play very often anyway, but I do quite like having something to work towards? Therefore, I've worked out a new list (using the updated Munitorum Field Manual points as per what was revealed in the latest Goonhammer article):     So, 4 Characters, 5 Vehicles, 5 squads. It's not intended to be mega-competitive, just a fun list that should hopefully do ok?

So, after several months and a handful of terrible looking models on my desk, I think I have settled on a scheme for Hive Fleet TBD. That's about the only thing I have settled on, though. No name, no fluff, no idea how to base. I am not in much of a hurry, though. I want to take my time and just paint for the sake of painting more than trying to finish a list. That always leads me to make stupid mistakes.
